I have 10 buff orphington hens that lay an egg a day, I have 14 hens total and most days get 14 eggs and every once in awhile they drop to 10. They lay med to large brown eggs with a few jumbo double yokers. I bought them day old at rural king in april so these are still young. I am letting most of them go because we just cant use that many eggs daily and these are egg birds not meat birds so I dont want to waste them by killing them. next spring I want to try a new breed until I get a good meat bird that lays for me.
